A chronological journey through the milestones that shaped BBW — from a Madiwala workshop to fully automated factories serving customers on four continents.
BBW’s journey began in 1981 in Madiwala, Bengaluru, when Mr. Vincent Palathinkal established Bangalore Brushware. The company began with a focus on quality household cleaning brushes under the “Handy” brand.
BBW pioneered automated brush solutions for cleaning equipment and became an OEM supplier to established organisations including Eureka Forbes and Roots.
BBW began supplying specialised brushes to the latex and food industries in Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia, marking the beginning of its international journey.
The company expanded across floor cleaning, food, latex and automobile sectors while introducing semi-automatic machinery and strengthening manufacturing capabilities.
Bangalore Brushware was incorporated as BBW Brushes Pvt. Ltd. and operations were relocated to KSSIDC units in Electronic City, Bengaluru.
BBW adopted fully automatic brush-making machinery from Zahoransky, Germany, beginning a significant transformation towards highly automated manufacturing. A next-generation leadership transition was planned, with Joseph John Manalil as CEO and Sandhya Vincent Manalil as Director, under the guidance of Mr. Vincent Palathinkal as Managing Director.
BBW expanded markets across the USA, Mexico, Europe and Southeast Asia and achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification with a customer-first quality policy.
BBW invested in infrastructure, manpower and machinery while implementing cloud-based ERP and automated HR/payroll systems. The board transition was completed, with Joseph John Manalil as CEO & Managing Director and Sandhya Vincent Manalil as Finance Director.
BBW continued investing in advanced, fully automated manufacturing technology, including machinery from BORGHI, Italy, while focusing on production scale and global market expansion.
From our first exports to Sri Lanka and Southeast Asia in 1998, BBW brushes now reach customers across the USA, Mexico, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia.
